The gamelan, from Indonesia, is just one instrument students may learn about.Traditionally, music education in public schools has been based on Western art music and folk music. Students learn traditional songs, and the works of classical composers from Europe and America. But this approach leaves out entire cultures whose music has a lot to offer U.S. students. The music of Asia, including India, Pakistan, China and Japan, is slowly starting to be appreciated for the huge educational resource that it is. - In many schools, Asian students, or those of Asian origin, make up an increasingly large proportion of the student body. It can be of great benefit to allow these students to celebrate and explore their native culture, and to share it with other students. As schools become more diverse it makes less sense to center music education solely on Western cultural norms.
- The National Commission on Asia in the Schools reports that most Americans lack even a basic knowledge of Asia, despite the fact that the continent is an important trading partner with the U.S. The acquisition of skills and repertoire in Asian music can lead students with no previous knowledge of the region to explore other aspects of Asian life and culture. Playing and learning Asian music in class can be broadened into a discussion of traditional instruments, musicians and the circumstances of life in the country of origin.
- Many forms of Asian music are based on musical structures that are completely distinct from Western scales and modes. For instance, much of Chinese traditional music is based on a pentatonic scale, rather than the octave system. Rhythmic structures may be very different, and Asian music also utilizes hundreds of instruments that may not be familiar to students. Music students can benefit greatly from broadening their musical perspectives to include these new theories and skills.

What is Arts based Cognitive Rehabilitation
Over the last 2 decades Neuro Psychologists have been the primary "formal" providers of cognitive rehabilitation. The program that you are learning about evolved out of my need to find more recovery far and beyond what the "formal" cognitive rehabilitation had to offer. The program that I have developed has been in practice by me for close to 20 years and has been practiced by 60 other professionals that I have certified over the last 6 years via Distance Learning.
This is evidenced Based learning. I trained these professionals on line. They studied the CDAT process; they reported at conferences on their outcomes and guess what? The program was a success and in all 60 cases there were positive outcomes.
Thus, into the world this training comes, I offer you a new form of Cognitive Rehabilitation that is Arts Based, the CDAT process. The world and those in it have help available to them that they did not have before. Its up to you now, get certified and show them they can recover in ways otherwise not thought possible.
Unlike traditional Cognitive rehabilitation, the CDAT process works on the bottoms-up first (sensory) and rebuilds the tolerance to sensory processing, then rebuilds the initial processing visual spatial particles and cognition follows. Many times clients appear to be by-passing left brain functioning and develop a new way of thinking in right brain format. It’s amazing to watch and amazing to the client to experience. 1. What is hCG? hCG is the acronym for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a substance produced by the placenta during pregnancy in huge amounts. It was discovered by Ascheim and Zondek in the urine of pregnant women, back as 1927, . After its discovery, scientists tried to find a name for this substance, and when they observed that the administration of hCG helped to provoke ovulation in experimentation animals, they named their discovery Gonadotropin, that means it has an action on gonads (testicles or ovaries) and Chorionic because later it was found was produced by the Chorium of the placenta. 2. Which are the functions of hCG during pregnancy? hCG is the biggest glycoproteic substance (we do not like to call it hormone, see below) present in human beings. Its molecule contains over 300 aminoacids, and despite some of its functions have been well described, many of them are poorly understood. One of the functions is to protect the embryo to be rejected : genetically 50% of the embryo belongs to the father, and since those genes act like a foreign body to the mother, the organism could reject the embryo. In fact, when an abortion menace is present, blood levels of hCG abruptly decrease . During pregnancy, and grossly speaking, the placenta takes the control of nearly all the mother's metabolic functions , and in certain sense acts like the hypophysis gland. hCG is one of the substances that regulate metabolism during pregnancy. 3. Is hCG a hormone? In our opinion: no. The word hormone comes from the Greek, meaning "I act through distance". The word was coined by Banting and Best in 1915 and was used to denominate those substances that, produced in one organ, their actions were performed elsewhere in the organism. Thus, testosterone is a hormone, because it is produced in the testicles, exerting its action on skin, brain, etc. Similarly , thyroid hormones, estrogen, insulin all them qualify for the term "hormone". However, hCG has been found in EVERY human tissue, also in males and non pregnant females . Investigators are very intrigued regarding the presence of hCG, for example in lungs, liver, stomach, etc. 4. How it is manufactured? hCG is manufactured by International and renowned Laboratories. The usual procedure is the extraction of hCG from urine of pregnant women. hCG is in the Pharmacies since 1930, and NO complications were EVER reported regarding its manufacturing. It is safe and highly time-tested. 5. Which are the medical indications for hCG? Since hCG administration facilitates ovulation, it has since long been used as part of fertilization programs. Also, other indication is the lack of descent of testicles in boys, a condition called cryptorchidism. hCG is one of the few drugs of natural origin that, fortunately, still remain in the current Pharmacopoeia. For unknown reasons, most of the research performed on its therapeutic potential deals with investigations related to testicles or ovaries, with comparatively few investigations performed in other clinical fields. Thousands of articles have been published about the effect of hCG on gonads (testicles or ovaries), but comparatively a small number of these have investigated its vast therapeutic potential on diseases ranging from Kaposi sarcoma,asthma, artheriopaties, thalassemia, osteopenia, glaucoma, cancer. 6. Why do we use a "pregnancy" substance for obesity treatment? This was the great discovery from a British Physician, Dr. ATW Simeons: The first report on the use of hCG for the management of obesity was published in 1954 by the late Dr. ATW Simeons, a British Physician practicing at the Ospedale Salvatori Mundii in Rome (opens in a new window). Working in India, he noticed that the so-called "fat boys," who showed Adiposogenital dystrophy improved their undescended testis when they were treated with hCG. But he also observed that body fat distribution modified during the treatment course. Therefore he hypothesized that if those children were concomitantly submitted to a very Hypocaloric diet they could reduce their body weight, consuming the "fat on the move". Later on, he extended his investigations to patients showing different degrees of obesity, and concluded that hCG might be useful for the treatment of obesity because (424-425).
When Dr. Simeons published his discoveries in the Lancet, back as 1954, obesity was considered a matter of aesthetics, and obesity treatments were confined to the simple indication of "keeping the mouth shut". After its publication, many Physicians from all over the world flocked to Dr. Simeons Hospital to get information on the treatment at first hand. Unfortunately, some of them were guided only by profits, and when returning to their Countries they setup the so called "Fat Clinics", mushrooming everywhere. As a consequence of an improper management of the method, complications were reported. Therefore, in 1974 FDA stated hCG was of no use for obesity management because its administration rendered similar results regarding weight loss both in treated and non treated patients. AND WE AGREE. hCG administration does not render weight loss better than any other Very Low Calorie Diet. BUT hCG treated patients lost more body fat than non treated patients. 8. Any benefit from the use of the method hCG+diet to treat overweight? As we have explained before, hCG-treated patients lost more body fat than non treated patients. And fat content is the kernel of the disease we call obesity. When evaluating the efficiency from any obesity treatment, we must assess whether the procedure decreases body fat to a greater extent when compared to other approaches. We do not have to assess weight loss, fat loss is the answer. If I give a diuretic to the patient and request him to come back in three hours, and he has lost four pounds after three hours : does it mean that diuretics administration is an effective procedure for weight loss?. Absolutely no. 9. Are there other benefits from the use of hCG for obesity treatment? Yes. Patients feel in a good mood throughout the treatment period. They do not report irritability, weakness. They look fine. Sleep improves. Also they notice a decrease in the size of their body circumferences, referred as "Clothes fit fine, better than any other regular diet". A very important remodeling of body contour is observed (due to the fact that hCG+diet decreases body fat better than any other obesity treatment). 10. Does hCG administration cures obesity? No. Obesity is a disease whose origin is a permanent disorder in the hypothalamic area, a region deep inside the brain. What hCG does is to render weight loss safe, comfortable, and the maintenance period after the treatment is much easier to perform. 11. Who can perform the hCG+diet method? Only licensed and trained MD's. Please let me quote Dr. ATW Simeons: The hCG+diet method can bring relief to every case of obesity, but the method is not simple. It is very time-consuming and requires perfect cooperation between physician and patient. Each case must be handled individually, and the physician must have time to answer questions, allay fears and remove misunderstandings. He must also check the patient daily. When something goes wrong he must at once investigate until he finds the reason for any gain that may have occurred. In most cases it is useless to hand the patient a diet-sheet and let the nurse give him "a shot". 12. Any clinical complication from the method? Provided the procedure is performed by a trained MD: NONE. Dose used during the treatment is quite small, compared to that produced by women during pregnancy (about 1.000.000 IU Per Day!!). Let me quote our disclaimer: "Unfortunately many Healthcare Professionals modified the original method based on their own assumptions on how the method operates. In some cases modifications were performed to the extent that they do not include any of the basic and fundamental postulates of the hCG protocol, resulting in unwanted or side-effects. We set forth that much of the negative publicity surrounding the method is due to the lack of proper validation by the appropriate governmental agencies, such that it has been marginally performed often by untrained personnel, under uncontrolled conditions. Thus, the protocol has been modified or misinterpreted, leading to unsuccessful results." 13. Do we sell hCG? No, we do not sell hCG. hCG Can be purchased UNDER prescription in any Country. We only treat our patients with the method, and train registered MD's to perform the procedure in their Country of origin 14. Do you know of any Physician performing the oral hCG© method for weight loss? NO, we do not. The oral hCG method for weight loss is the result from our twenty-five years of experience on the method: first with hCG injections until we developed the oral formulation. Our clinical results and studies were posted in 1992 over the Internet to allow patients obtain more information on a very successful weight reduction program. Our casuistic exceeds 6.000 treated patients so far, plus about 14.000 cases that were reviewed when I stayed at the Bellevue Klinik in Switzerland. Thus, I have ample experience on both methods, but since 1993 our choice has been the oral hCG approach. I do not endorse any claims regarding the use of oral hCG for weight loss, except those coming from our Institution. The Blessing is More Powerful!
We are blessed to be a blessing! We are to proclaim the blessing of the Lord over our families, churches, cities and nations. Proclaim His goodness and invoke His blessing over every sphere of delegated rule He has put in your life!
I was given a dream revealing to me the power of declaring His blessings. Light was being released over people and cities as they proclaimed the blessing of God's Word. People began to be healed without anyone touching them as darkness was displaced by light. I had this dream repeatedly and I knew it dealt with the power of proclaiming God's blessing. Yes, the power of the blessing is more powerful than the power of the curse!
Defining Our Terms
From Webster's Dictionary:
To Bless: To invoke divine favor on, to bestow happiness, prosperity or good things of all kinds; to make a pronouncement holy; to consecrate, to glorify for the benefits received, to extol for Excellencies.
A Blessing: A prayer or solemn wish imploring happiness upon another; a benediction or blessing; the act of pronouncing a benediction or blessing; that which promotes prosperity and welfare . . .
From the Hebrew Language:
To Bless: Barak – To kneel by implication to bless God as an act of adoration, to praise, salute, thanks . . . a posture of reverence . . .
A Blessing: Berakah – Benediction (an act of invoking a blessing).
The Nature of the Blessing

Seven Areas of Blessings We Can Each Tap Into!
1. Biblical Promises
Search out God's promises for your life in His Word! The Bible is full of "blessing" with you in mind! Exercise faith and declare your Biblical Promises.
2. Family Genealogy
Ask the Lord for help as you redemptively look at your family history. What is the family blessing that you are to call forth and pass on?
3. Ethnic Background
What is your ethnic background? Call for the redemptive gift of God for each tribe and honor the Lord with the gifts He has generationally bestowed!
4. Church Promises
What is your church background? Call forth the "fire" of John Wesley; the purity of the Quakers; the power of the Pentecostals; the evangelical anointing of the Baptist; the prayer of the Moravians, etc.
5. Geographic Region – City, State, Nation
What did the founding fathers of your city or state declare and write about your region? What is the redemptive purpose of your city? Were there previous revivals? Call the blessings into being once again!
6. The Meaning of Your Name
What does your name mean? Why did your parents give you that name? Call forth the characteristics and prophetic purposes of your name.
7. Personal Prophetic Words
Have there been any gifts of the Spirit vocalized over your life? What has God spoken over you and your family? What promises has the Holy Spirit spoken to you? What blessing does God have waiting for you to fulfill?

GraceAnn just graduated Summa Cum Laud (highest academic honors) May 28th from Franklin Classical School. She has grown wonderfully in the Lord this year and we are quite proud of her! Justin, GraceAnn and Rachel have all joined their mother on the Compassion Acts Missions Trip to Mozambique with Iris Ministries! Tyler will join the church youth group on a mission's trip to Mexico in June as well. So keep our family in your prayers as they go to the nations.
I have just completed scans again at the hospital and am now awaiting the results of these tests. I will meet with the doctors to get the results and will send out a Health Update to you as soon as I get it! Thanks for standing with us through prayer and finances during these days.

"Relentless Generational Blessings"

In the last decade, there has been significant new teaching on the art of blessing as well as great revelation about the menace of generational curses. The truths in this book on generational blessings occupy a niche between those other two concepts. We not only inherit a toxic waste dump we do not deserve (our generational curses) but we also inherit a gold mine that we have not earned (our generational blessings).
Part one of the book deals with the existing trust fund of blessings.

We are blessed to be a blessing! We are to proclaim the blessing of the Lord over our families, churches, cities and nations. Proclaim His goodness and invoke His blessing over every sphere of delegated rule He has put in your life!
I was given a dream revealing to me the power of declaring His blessings. Light was being released over people and cities as they proclaimed the blessing of God's Word. People began to be healed without anyone touching them as darkness was displaced by light. I had this dream repeatedly and I knew it dealt with the power of proclaiming God's blessing. Yes, the power of the blessing is more powerful than the power of the curse!
Defining Our Terms
From Webster's Dictionary:
To Bless: To invoke divine favor on, to bestow happiness, prosperity or good things of all kinds; to make a pronouncement holy; to consecrate, to glorify for the benefits received, to extol for Excellencies.
A Blessing: A prayer or solemn wish imploring happiness upon another; a benediction or blessing; the act of pronouncing a benediction or blessing; that which promotes prosperity and welfare . . .
From the Hebrew Language:
To Bless: Barak – To kneel by implication to bless God as an act of adoration, to praise, salute, thanks . . . a posture of reverence . . .
A Blessing: Berakah – Benediction (an act of invoking a blessing).
The Nature of the Blessing
1. Pronounced audibly (can be written as well)
2. Continue on in time – generation to generation
3. Usually are not just individual, but family oriented
The following definition is true concerning the nature of both curses and blessings:
A word spoken with some particular form of spiritual power and authority for good or evil that sets in motion something that will probably go on from generation to generation. (By Derek Prince)
Examples of Generational Blessings from Scripture
1. From God Directly to Abraham:
Read Genesis 12:2, 3
2. From Melchizedek in Behalf of God:
Read Genesis 14:18 – 20
3. Transfer of the Generational Blessing:
Read Genesis 25: 9 – 11
4. Stolen Birthright by Jacob from Esau:
Read Genesis 27:27 – 29
5. Patriarchal Blessing from Israel to the 12 Tribes:
Read Genesis 49:28
Five Steps to Invoke the Blessing
According to Gary Smalley and John Trent as stated in their excellent book The Blessing – there are five clear steps to invoking a Blessing!
1. Meaningful Touch
Touch imparts and releases life, warmth, compassion and blessing.
2. A Spoken Word
After meaningful touch comes a word of loving affirmation.
3. Attaching High Value to the One Being Blessed
Esteem, give honor, and value to another. Declare Life!
4. Picturing a Special Future
Envision God's destiny for individuals, churches and cities. Impart hope!
5. An Active Commitment
Empower others with a practical commitment. Get behind them!
Seven Areas of Blessings We Can Each Tap Into!
1. Biblical Promises
Search out God's promises for your life in His Word! The Bible is full of "blessing" with you in mind! Exercise faith and declare your Biblical Promises.
2. Family Genealogy
Ask the Lord for help as you redemptively look at your family history. What is the family blessing that you are to call forth and pass on?
3. Ethnic Background
What is your ethnic background? Call for the redemptive gift of God for each tribe and honor the Lord with the gifts He has generationally bestowed!
4. Church Promises
What is your church background? Call forth the "fire" of John Wesley; the purity of the Quakers; the power of the Pentecostals; the evangelical anointing of the Baptist; the prayer of the Moravians, etc.
5. Geographic Region – City, State, Nation
What did the founding fathers of your city or state declare and write about your region? What is the redemptive purpose of your city? Were there previous revivals? Call the blessings into being once again!
6. The Meaning of Your Name
What does your name mean? Why did your parents give you that name? Call forth the characteristics and prophetic purposes of your name.
7. Personal Prophetic Words
Have there been any gifts of the Spirit vocalized over your life? What has God spoken over you and your family? What promises has the Holy Spirit spoken to you? What blessing does God have waiting for you to fulfill?
Proclaim His Word Over Your Life!
From Numbers 6:24 – 27
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.
From Psalms 103:1 – 5
Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit; who crowns you with loving-kindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like an eagle.

GraceAnn just graduated Summa Cum Laud (highest academic honors) May 28th from Franklin Classical School. She has grown wonderfully in the Lord this year and we are quite proud of her! Justin, GraceAnn and Rachel have all joined their mother on the Compassion Acts Missions Trip to Mozambique with Iris Ministries! Tyler will join the church youth group on a mission's trip to Mexico in June as well. So keep our family in your prayers as they go to the nations.
I have just completed scans again at the hospital and am now awaiting the results of these tests. I will meet with the doctors to get the results and will send out a Health Update to you as soon as I get it! Thanks for standing with us through prayer and finances during these days.
